Ramp's IP Advisory Services provides the information necessary for corporations to understand the effectiveness and defensibility of their patent portfolio.
At the center of the IP Advisory Services offering is a proprietary screening technology that presently resides in patent offices around the world. Using this technology, our team has the ability to programmatically interrogate the entire content of patents worldwide. This amazing technology allows Ramp to evaluate IP targets against all possible existing and tangential IP in the world. The technology discerns the quality of IP by gleaning what patents, and claims within those patents were granted versus what the applicant was seeking to secure and was denied by patent authorities. For example, the applicant may have been granted a patent, but wasn't awarded critical elements already claimed and awarded to another entity. All of these factors (and more) allow Ramp to create a defensible rating for every patent. This rating is key to establishing a baseline whereby a monetary value can be established for sub-licensing individual patent claims, or entire patent portfolios.
