David Oppenheimer
Founder, Chief Technical Officer and Chairman of the Board
David Oppenheimer brings over 25 years of experience in development environments of high technology. Most recently David spent the last two years forming a technology acceleration fund focusing on advanced sciences from federal labs, academic institutions and commercial entities. David believes passionately that the complex problems in the world today can be addressed through technologies that support policy.
Prior to Ramp, David worked with National Sensor Corporation located in El Segundo, CA. to deploy hyper-spectral sensors for detection of chemical weapons in real-time from ground and air platforms. Oppenheimer has spent extensive time working on policy matters to help educate on issues of chemical weapons detection in a variety of military and civilian environments. Since September 11th, 2001 Oppenheimer's focus has been directed in areas of nuclear, biologic and chemical defense and pushes for techniques for early detection of threats.
Oppenheimer has written opinions and supported a variety of foreign policy studies at Stanford University's Hoover Institute and Center for International Security and Cooperation and worked extensively with the University of Salzburg in areas on nuclear non-proliferation over the last ten years. Most recent publications (2006) include photo interpretation of work supporting testimony on the intelligence capabilities of Cuba and the influence of China.
